It is not easy to homeschool a high school student. But, with a little patience, it will not be as tough as you think. Below are a few helpful tips that can help you with the process!

1. Plan the year
For a trouble-free journey begin by planning! Browse through different high school curriculums as early as possible. Make sure you keep an eye for a good deal related to high school homeschooling from as early as 7th grade.

2. Choosing electives
A very important part of any high school is choosing electives. Electives are extra subjects that assist in exploring subjects that are outside of their core subjects. Start by creating a detailed list of electives options for your child. Sit down with your teen and try to narrow down the list by choosing the ones that will really suit their interests, fulfill their high school requirements, and will help them in the future.

3. Stay organized
Make sure you and your child are birth well organized during the entire year to stay productive. During their teenage years, part of their schooling and growing up is to learn to handle their own lives. You can guide your children during high school to help them become self-reliant.

4. Choose the right curriculum
With your child getting older, you will have a better understanding for their study style and what will work for them Teens must also be involved in choosing their curriculum and deciding what they should learn.  With your supervision, your teen can take charge and gain control over their learning process.

5. Persistence
It is important to stay patient and work persistently towards achieving your goals.  Teenage years are rough enough! If you add homeschooling your teen, there may be days you may just want to call it quits! You will have your bad days. It is important to keep the bigger picture in mind.

Homeschooling can be a beautiful journey if you learn to relax and stay motivated. It may take some effort but ultimately you will find your way as you work through high school curriculum together.

Fun Activities for Homeschool Curriculum

Have you ever experienced a shove when you were travelling in a vehicle and it suddenly turned? Or did you ever find out why water in a swinging bucket does not spill? The causes for both the incidences are the same. Here are a few activities you can include in your homeschool curriculum to make science interesting:  Swirling Can : Take an empty soup can and tie a string to it. Hold some water in the can and suspend it from the attached string. Make sure you fill it up partly with water and twirl it around in a horizontal loop. Make a vertical loop, swirl it around. With the can swirling faster the water will start feeling heavier and may press against the can’s bottom. The quicker you swirl, the water will feel heavier and more it will press to the can’s bottom. As the can is swirled...
