Which is the best form of parenting when homeschooling a child?

The overall development of children depends largely on the way they are brought up.  Parenting style affects the future well-being of the children as the brain is molded by the way parents treat them and manage them.

Parents that are strict
Authoritative homeschooling parents prefer keeping complete control over the lives of their children.  Children have no right to question them and defying their parents can cause terrible consequences such as, the child being insulted, lectured, punished or shamed.

Authoritarian parents believe strongly that their children should do well academically. They feel they are not doing their jobs well if their children are weak in studies. The parents are least concerned about the emotional wellbeing of the child.  They believe treating children in a tough way will make them strong. In fact, strict parents assume that their little ones are strong, and not weak.

Research shows that children who are protected do not develop “mastery experiences”. Children who are brought up by authoritative parents tend to be decisive and optimistic and think of themselves as capable of surmounting great challenges.

Lenient parenting:
Parents that are permissive allow children to think for themselves and permit significant self-regulation from their children. Such parents believe that stressing on academic success is not good and that they must let the little ones learn in a fun way.

Lenient parents are more concerned about the emotional wellbeing and self-esteem of the children.  They constantly reassure children of their self-worth, and if the children fail at something, they are still good to them.

Permissive parents give value and acknowledge their children’s individuality.  They offer freedom to help them pursue their choices in life and their passions.  Permissive parents support the endeavors of their children and provide a nurturing environment.
Children that are raised in such an open and loving culture tent to grow up with the capability to be innovative and creative.  Being free to chase their dreams, they get to think outside the box.  This form of parenting has produced Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs.

As a homeschooling parent, it is a good idea to take a balanced approach when teaching your child so that you can raise strong, emotionally fit individuals.
